The Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) Quetta was founded in 1976. It has administrative and financial jurisdiction for the organisation, regulation, development, and management of Intermediate and Secondary Education in general, as well as the administration of examinations at public and private schools connected with it. To all institutions that fall under the Board's authority, i.e. those located across Balochistan (with the exception of those located in cantonments and managed by the cantonment board).
The board is responsible for:
- SSC and HSSC education is provided by affiliate institutions.
Prescribe teaching courses for SSC and HSSC students.
Ensure that the associated institutions have the necessary facilities.
Exams will be held, and examiners and supervisory personnel will be appointed.
Take steps to improve pupils' physical well-being.
Sporting events.
To provide national and provincial education authorities with policy-related, cognitive, and intellectual direction toward the progressive attainment of national educational goals and objectives at the secondary and higher secondary levels through a fair,and efficient exam. system.
The BBISE is responsible for Matric and intermediate examinations and to promote education in balochistan as its the biggest province with lot of under developed areas and less literacy rate. As a result, the Balochistan Board has implemented a computerization system for the benefit of students from far-flung areas.
The board focuses on proper inspection of affiliated institutions through vigilant committees in order to monitor their academic performance and assist them in improving enrollment in schools and colleges; promote sportsmanship in students through physical education; and award scholarships/prizes to students who demonstrate meritorious academic performance in results.
